| Volunteer Firefighter: We are
accepting applications for 2010 volunteers until 5:00 p.m. on April 23, 2010. If you are

|
| To become a volunteer
firefighter each candidate must meet the following requirements:
|
| |
|
|
|
- 18 years of age or older
- Complete an application form
- Consult your private
physician to ascertain whether you are in proper physical condition
to meet the criteria in the “Physical Performance Assessment” test
and sign an “Informed Consent Liability Release Form” stating such
(both of which are enclosed)
- Must show proof of Hepatitis
B (Hep B) series (or series started)
- Firefighter 1 certified or be
willing to attend the Firefighter 1 Academy to become certified

The Academy requires a commitment
of time and studying for an accredited
college class which lasts approximately 16 weeks
(two evenings per week and every other Saturday).
- Successfully complete the
“Physical Performance Assessment” physical ability exam
- Pass an oral interview before
an Oral Board Panel
- Pass a drug screen,
background and driver’s license check
- Be willing to commit a
minimum of 48 hours per month (once released) to run emergency calls
